Overview
Epilepsy is a disorder of the central nervous system in which brain activity becomes abnormal. It is characterized by a loss of awareness, recurrent seizures, sensations, and sometimes a loss of awareness. A person who is having an episode of seizure exhibits strange behavior, symptoms, and sensations, sometimes even losing consciousness. It is a non-communicable disorder that makes a person paralyzed for the time being. Both physical issues (such as fractures and bruising from seizures-related traumas) and psychological issues, such as anxiety and sadness, are more common in people with epilepsy. There are many triggers to epilepsy, including genetics, poor immunity, infection, and even the side effects of medication. Generally, the treatment includes anti-seizure medication, which is less effective, and surgery.
