Overview
Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially fatal allergic disease that can simultaneously impact several bodily systems. This reaction is frequently brought on by certain foods, bug stings, some drugs, or allergies. Anaphylaxis is unusual, though. Even those who have allergies may not have anaphylaxis in the majority of cases. Anaphylaxis signs and symptoms include vomiting, trouble breathing, shock, and tongue swelling. These symptoms are brought on by an overactive immune system. Anaphylaxis is more likely to occur in those with allergies, asthma, and a family history of the condition. The best course of action is to avoid exposure if a person is at higher risk or is known to have a major allergy. Anaphylaxis needs to be treated by a doctor very quickly since it can be fatal if it is not. It is crucial to always have an adrenaline (a hormone) kit on hand if someone has a history of having a major allergic response.
